National spotlight: Jacobs projects win top American Council of Engineering Companies awards

Jacobs is delivering critical infrastructure across the U.S., earning national recognition for engineering excellence and positive community impact. Five projects have been honored in the 2024 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Engineering Excellence Awards, showcasing innovative design, sustainable practices and transformative benefits for the communities they serve. Lynnwood Link Extension The Lynnwood Link Extension is a key addition to Seattle’s light rail network, enhancing connectivity between residential neighborhoods and economic centers. The project includes 8.5 miles of new rail, four stations and a maintenance facility. By cutting travel times and providing reliable transit options, the extension supports sustainable growth and improves access to jobs, education and essential services. Jacobs’ design leadership on this project earned the National Grand Award, ACEC’s highest honor. Seattle Waterfront Overlook Walk The Seattle Waterfront Overlook Walk is a striking pedestrian connection between downtown and the waterfront. The project features elevated walkways, public spaces and scenic views of Elliott Bay. Jacobs’ design blends artistic elements with sustainability, creating an inclusive, vibrant experience. It enhances mobility, boosts tourism and supports local businesses. This project received a National Honor Award from ACEC.
