Two Jacobs projects earned recognition at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) California Engineering Excellence Awards: Fireboat Station 20 at the Port of Long Beach and the I-15/Railroad Canyon Road Interchange Reconstruction Project.
Fireboat Station 20 at the Port of Long Beach

Fireboat Station 20 at the Port of Long Beach is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance emergency response capabilities at one of the world’s busiest ports. The project integrates advanced technology and resilient infrastructure to support fireboats and emergency personnel. This station includes modern amenities and specialized equipment that enable rapid and efficient response to maritime emergencies.
“Our commitment to safety and excellence is demonstrated through careful planning and execution of this project,” says Jacobs Project Manager Milind Desai. “By integrating advanced technology with innovative design, we’ve created a solution that’s safeguarding the Port of Long Beach.”
The project received an Honor Award in ACEC California’s 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards. It was also recognized with multiple honors in 2024, including the American Public Works Association Best Project of the Year in the Facilities category, the Construction Management Association of America Federal/State/Local Government Award and the International Partnering Institute (IPI) John L. Martin Partnering Project of the Year Award.
