Diriyah Company’s Wadi Safar East and West Package Infrastructure Project has received the prestigious RoSPA Gold Award for health and safety performance in Saudi Arabia, demonstrating how safety excellence can align with quality, innovation and timely delivery.

Part of Diriyah Company’s transformation plans, Wadi Safar spans 62 square kilometers (23 square miles) on Riyadh’s western edge. The development is envisioned as a world-class residential, cultural, leisure and hospitality destination. It supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives by blending heritage preservation, sustainable design and urban innovation to create a new benchmark for large-scale tourism-led city-making.

Driving safety excellence

The award reflects Diriyah Company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of occupational safety, risk management and operational discipline, alongside Jacobs’ experience in delivering complex infrastructure safely and efficiently.

“At Diriyah Company, our unwavering commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone who contributes to our projects is at the very heart of everything we do. I am deeply honored that the Wadi Safar Masterplan—delivered in collaboration with Jacobs—has earned the distinguished RoSPA Gold Award, a testament to our dedication to excellence in safety. As we transform Wadi Safar into a remarkable, world-class destination, the wellbeing of our team, partners and community remains our highest priority.” says Jerry Inzerillo, Group CEO of Diriyah Company.

“This award is a testament to the team’s relentless focus on health and safety,” says Jacobs Senior Vice President and General Manager, Middle East Zaher Abu Hijleh. “We’re proud to see that commitment recognized on such a significant project—and to see our people leading the way in a market experiencing exceptional growth and activity.”

“Safety is embedded as a shared value from the outset of our projects,” adds Jacobs Middle East Senior HSE Director Amanda Aldred. “It is a proud moment to see that proactive planning, continuous improvement and strong stakeholder engagement is recognized on a global stage.”

In addition to the Wadi Safar achievement, Jacobs has also been recognized with the RoSPA Patron’s Award for the seventh consecutive year. The distinction reflects sustained and exceptional commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing across our global operations. The Patron’s Award is RoSPA’s highest level of recognition, reserved for organizations demonstrating long-term leadership in health and safety excellence.

Both awards reflect Jacobs’ core value of “We Aim Higher,” showing how innovative thinking, rigorous processes and cross-discipline teamwork can deliver positive outcomes at scale. They also demonstrate Jacobs’ BeyondZero® culture, which places the health, safety and wellbeing of people at the heart of everything the company does.
