Jacobs joins the World Ocean Council
Jacobs has joined the World Ocean Council, a global alliance supporting sustainability, innovation and responsible ocean development.
The World Ocean Council brings together businesses, investors, policymakers, researchers and other stakeholders to promote ocean stewardship and strengthen collaboration across sectors that depend on the greater ocean economy. As the only international, multi-sector alliance focused exclusively on corporate responsibility in the ocean economy, the World Ocean Council provides a platform for members to share knowledge, shape industry dialogue and drive collective action on ocean sustainability and resilience.
From designing climate-resilient waterfronts and flood protection systems to restoring wetlands, reefs and other natural assets, Jacobs works at the intersection of infrastructure and environmental stewardship. We bring global expertise in resilient coastal infrastructure, ecosystem restoration and climate adaptation, addressing coastal challenges like sea level rise and flooding while advancing blue carbon and marine renewables.
By joining the World Ocean Council, Jacobs will further contribute to global conversations and initiatives that promote responsible ocean use, ecosystem health and resilient coastal development. Through these connections we will continue to advance innovative solutions that create value for our clients, communities and ocean environments.
“Joining the World Ocean Council reflects our commitment to building a more resilient and sustainable future for coastal and marine environments,” says Jacobs Global Solutions Director, Resilience and Climate Response Adam Hosking. “The health of our oceans is closely connected to economic prosperity, environmental stewardship, community wellbeing and the long-term resilience of coastal communities. As World Ocean Council members, we look forward to sharing expertise, collaborating with industry and advancing innovative solutions that strengthen resilience and enhance the blue economy.”
Participating in the World Ocean Council aligns with our work in sustainability and climate response at Jacobs, which focuses on reducing climate risk, strengthening resilience and delivering nature-positive outcomes.
