Jacobs is home to some of the world’s brightest talent in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) – and we’re thrilled that #OurJacobs teammates have been recognized at this year’s Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) STEM conference.
Held annually in February, the conference brings together K-12 and college students, professionals from the military, government and corporations, and employers from business and industry to network, celebrate excellence and showcase STEAM career opportunities.
The BEYA STEM awards provide the opportunity to share the achievements of minorities in STEAM and recognize leaders who are developing innovation. Out of hundreds of eligible entries, a panel of leaders from industry, government and academia has selected eight of Jacobs’ best and brightest with awards in two categories: Outstanding Achievement Awards and Peer-Reviewed Awards.
Within the Outstanding Achievement Award category, six teammates were honored as 2024 Science Spectrum Trailblazers and one as a Modern-Day Technology Leader. In the Peer-Reviewed Awards category, one teammate received the prestigious Gerald Johnson Legacy Award.

Senior Vice President & General Manager – Gerald Johnson Legacy Award
Presenting our Senior Vice President & General Manager Ron Williams with his Legacy Award? None other than our CEO Bob Pragada.
“We’re extremely proud to partner with the Black Engineer of the Year Award and the mission of increasing representation. At Jacobs, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging – what we call TogetherBeyond – is central to who we are because we believe the best ideas, solutions and approaches are cultivated when there’s a breadth of experiences and perspectives in the room," says CEO Bob Pragada. "We see diversity as critical to being able to deliver on our promise of ‘Challenging today. Reinventing tomorrow.’ I’m extremely proud of our teammates recognized for outstanding achievement and this year I had the great honor of presenting BEYA’s Gerald Johnson Legacy Award to my great friend and colleague Ron Williams, who has been with Jacobs since 1995 and has been incredibly successful in his role at building and enhancing communities across the U.S. and Canada.”
