Building Better Parks: Jacobs to Support Construction Across Upstate New York

Supporting the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in revitalizing upstate communities

New York’s more than 250 individual parks, historic sites, recreational trails, golf courses, boat launches and other public offerings welcome more than 88 million visitors each year, offering vital spaces for recreation, education and cultural connection. Maintaining and improving these public assets requires thoughtful planning, technical expertise and a commitment to community needs.

To support this mission, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYSOPRH) has selected Jacobs to provide professional construction management services across Upstate New York. The contract spans the western, mid-state and Hudson districts and includes a wide range of park infrastructure upgrades — from historic preservation to utility enhancements.

Jacobs’ scope of work will include oversight and management of:

  • Historic preservation
  • Playground and landscape architecture
  • Utility and infrastructure improvements
  • Surveying, geotechnical support and materials testing

With a strong track record in the New York City metro area and throughout New York State across multiple market sectors including water, transportation and buildings, Jacobs brings deep local knowledge and national best practices with a focus on sustainable, safe and community-centered project delivery.
