Stronger, faster, safer: New Bridgewater Bridge now open

Since 2022, Jacobs, in collaboration with McConnell Dowell, served as lead designer for the New Bridgewater Bridge—Tasmania’s largest transport infrastructure project to date. The new bridge replaces the 76-year-old, two-lane lift bridge over the River Derwent. As part of the National Highway network, it enhances connectivity between the Brooker and Midland highways, reducing travel times and improving safety for thousands of daily commuters. As lead designer, Jacobs delivered detailed design services, including: Integration of utility services within the main bridge structure Flood modeling, transit planning and intelligent transport systems Roadway, interchange, ramp and underpass design Structural design of additional key elements, including the Boyer Road and Black Snake Road bridges, and multiple watercourse structures. Our Hobart-based team led the project, supported by Jacobs’ global experts to meet both local requirements and international standards. This milestone builds on Jacobs’ long-standing presence in Tasmania and our history of delivering critical infrastructure through our Hobart office. Jacobs and AtkinsRéalis appointed to England’s National Highways’ Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework

DALLAS, July 15, 2025 / PRNewswire/ – Jacobs (NYSE: J), in joint venture with AtkinsRéalis, has been appointed by England’s National Highways to its third Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework (SPaTS3) to provide road transport-related engineering and technical advice, research and innovation services. This framework builds on the foundations of the previous two frameworks – providing National Highways with access to leading technical and engineering capability as it continues to deliver England’s Roads Investment Strategy. The new framework is valued up to $680 million (£495m) over six years with six suppliers in total, including the AtkinsRéalis-Jacobs joint venture. The new framework will provide National Highways access to a range of specialist professional and technical services including strategic transport planning, transport modeling, engineering, sustainability, network resilience and more. It will also enable National Highways to integrate essential social value elements into the delivery of services. Future-focused: Enhancing water systems in Ohio

Nestled in western Ohio, the Village of Versailles is known for its small-town charm, strong community spirit and forward-thinking leadership. Now, the Village is taking a major step to secure its future by investing in critical water infrastructure — selecting Jacobs to lead preliminary design engineering for improvements to Versailles’ water treatment plant (WTP) and the expansion of its wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), both originally designed by Jacobs. The new upgrades will help maintain reliable service for a growing population and support key local employers, including Weaver Eggs and Midmark, while preparing for future development and evolving environmental regulations. “These infrastructure investments are about more than pipes and pumps — they’re about people,” says Jacobs Water Market Growth Director – East Central Melissa Hoffmeister. “By modernizing essential services, the Village of Versailles is providing residents and businesses critical access to safe, reliable water for decades to come.” The current WTP, commissioned in 2006, is rated for 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) and uses a proven groundwater softening process. Planned improvements will add a parallel treatment train — boosting capacity and operational flexibility while preserving the Village’s trusted approach. Jacobs selected to design light rail extension in Seattle

DALLAS, July 17, 2025 / PRNewswire/ – Jacobs (NYSE: J) has been selected to provide design services for Sound Transit’s West Seattle Link Extension. This project will expand Seattle's light rail network, enhancing connectivity for residential and economic centers and offering faster, more reliable service. The West Seattle Link Extension will add 4.1 miles of light rail, a new bridge, tunnel and four new stations, connecting Seattle’s SODO neighborhood with West Seattle’s Alaska Junction neighborhood. Jacobs will lead Phase 1 design and design validation for the extension. “Jacobs has delivered some of Puget Sound’s most critical transportation solutions for 70 years, including approximately 30 miles of light rail system expansions for Sound Transit,” said Jacobs Executive Vice President Ron Williams. “Transportation infrastructure enhances mobility and provides vital economic growth and community opportunities. Jacobs to support critical Ireland railway infrastructure program

DALLAS, July 22, 2025/ PRNewswire/ – Jacobs (NYSE: J) has been appointed as a multi-disciplinary consultant to Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail), supporting the long-term strategy for expanding and modernizing a section of Ireland’s rail network in line with the aspirations of the All Island Strategic Rail Review. The objective of this transformative project is to improve capacity and passenger experience across an 87-mile (140 kilometer) route serving the Western region from Galway to Portarlington, providing onward connection to Dublin. Initially, Jacobs will provide multi-disciplinary consultancy services – delivering the pre-feasibility, feasibility and preferred option selection project phases, looking at additional track capacity, decarbonization, increased speeds and higher service frequencies needs. The framework agreement is for a four-year period with option to extend for a further four years. Jacobs joint venture secures ongoing delivery of essential water services for Sydney Water

Sydney Water has extended its contract with Confluence Water − a joint venture comprising Jacobs, Downer and Ventia − for an additional five years. The contract extension will see Jacobs and Confluence Water continue delivering water and wastewater infrastructure and asset services to more than one million residents in Northern Sydney. Confluence Water currently provides design, construction and facilities management and maintenance services in an area spanning from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, including the Hills Shire. The joint venture is responsible for maintaining, renewing and upgrading existing water infrastructure, as well as delivering new assets such as pipelines, pump stations and wastewater treatment plants. Shaping Arizona’s energy future through sustainable hydropower

Jacobs has secured a contract to lead a pivotal Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Salt River Project, a major step toward shaping Arizona’s energy and environmental future. Salt River Project (SRP) is evaluating a new pumped storage hydropower facility to complement Apache Lake on the Salt River, which is home to diverse wildlife and some of the state’s most popular recreation locations. This innovative project will involve the construction of a new reservoir to serve as the upper reservoir, along with additional transmission infrastructure to connect to SRP’s existing 500-kilovolt (kV) Coronado-Silver King transmission line. Building on our existing relationship with SRP, Jacobs will assess the environmental impacts of the ambitious project. Since 2016, we’ve worked with SRP on numerous efforts, including a comprehensive master plan, long range facility master plan, various environmental, biological, and cultural resources on-call task orders, and permitting support on other key projects.
