Sydney Water has extended its contract with Confluence Water − a joint venture comprising Jacobs, Downer and Ventia − for an additional five years.

The contract extension will see Jacobs and Confluence Water continue delivering water and wastewater infrastructure and asset services to more than one million residents in Northern Sydney.

Confluence Water currently provides design, construction and facilities management and maintenance services in an area spanning from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, including the Hills Shire.

The joint venture is responsible for maintaining, renewing and upgrading existing water infrastructure, as well as delivering new assets such as pipelines, pump stations and wastewater treatment plants.

Jacobs initially announced the 10-year contract in 2019, which included a midterm review at the five-year mark to assess performance.

“This contract extension reflects Jacobs and Confluence Water’s approach to delivering innovation in design, construction and asset management,” said Jacobs Senior Vice President and General Manager Camille McGregor. “We look forward to continuing our long-term collaboration with Sydney Water working alongside Downer and Ventia to support essential water infrastructure across Northern Sydney.”
