Jacobs-operated utilities of the future today show innovation, share best practices

Jacobs’ Operations Management and Facilities Services’ (OMFS) teams and client partners, the City of Vancouver, Washington, and the City of Dodge City, Kansas, were among 39 water utilities named 2021 Utility of the Future Today (UotFT) winners. UotFT honorees demonstrate innovation and forward thinking to advance operations and leadership of wastewater utilities.

Jacobs awarded $8 billion US Department of Energy contract

Jacobs, as a member of the United Cleanup Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR) joint venture, was awarded the Oak Ridge Reservation Cleanup Contract (ORRCC). UCOR, formed by Amentum, Jacobs and Honeywell, will support the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) mission by performing environmental clean-up at the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR), which includes the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP).

Jacobs has pledged to Get Nature Positive and work towards halting and reversing the decline of nature by 2030, a target considered crucial in achieving the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. The campaign, led by the Council for Sustainable Business, sees 95 leading companies unite across different sectors in the U.K. to Get Nature Positive by 2030. Aligned with COP26 ambitions, business leaders will be joining forces to create a global goal for nature.
