Jacobs and AtkinsRéalis appointed to England’s National Highways’ Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework

DALLAS, July 15, 2025 / PRNewswire/ – Jacobs (NYSE: J), in joint venture with AtkinsRéalis, has been appointed by England’s National Highways to its third Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework (SPaTS3) to provide road transport-related engineering and technical advice, research and innovation services. This framework builds on the foundations of the previous two frameworks – providing National Highways with access to leading technical and engineering capability as it continues to deliver England’s Roads Investment Strategy. The new framework is valued up to $680 million (£495m) over six years with six suppliers in total, including the AtkinsRéalis-Jacobs joint venture. The new framework will provide National Highways access to a range of specialist professional and technical services including strategic transport planning, transport modeling, engineering, sustainability, network resilience and more. It will also enable National Highways to integrate essential social value elements into the delivery of services. Stronger, faster, safer: New Bridgewater Bridge now open

Since 2022, Jacobs, in collaboration with McConnell Dowell, served as lead designer for the New Bridgewater Bridge—Tasmania’s largest transport infrastructure project to date. The new bridge replaces the 76-year-old, two-lane lift bridge over the River Derwent. As part of the National Highway network, it enhances connectivity between the Brooker and Midland highways, reducing travel times and improving safety for thousands of daily commuters. As lead designer, Jacobs delivered detailed design services, including: Integration of utility services within the main bridge structure Flood modeling, transit planning and intelligent transport systems Roadway, interchange, ramp and underpass design Structural design of additional key elements, including the Boyer Road and Black Snake Road bridges, and multiple watercourse structures. Future-ready: Jacobs delivers critical design for Miami-Dade wastewater facility

In today’s rapidly changing world, cities and utilities are rethinking how they prepare for and respond to natural, societal and economic risks. From climate change to urbanization, the challenges are vast—and the need for resilient infrastructure has never been greater. Few places understand this more than the Greater Miami region in Florida. Often referred to as “ ground zero” for climate change, Miami-Dade County faces a unique set of challenges due to rising sea levels and the increasing threat of extreme weather events. Resilience is a top priority for the region and its infrastructure owners. That’s why when the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department needed a new operations center at its South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), it selected Jacobs to deliver the design. The project is part of the County’s broader effort to modernize its wastewater infrastructure and improve working conditions for its staff. The new operations center will serve as the heart of the South District WWTP, which treats wastewater for nearly 2.4 million residents and countless visitors each year. Jacobs was previously selected to develop a Basis of Design Planning Report for the existing South District WWTP, completed in 2023. Transforming transportation: Jacobs supports Caltrans projects in Los Angeles

With Los Angeles County accounting for 23% of California's annual vehicle miles traveled, the region’s transportation infrastructure faces constant pressure from its high demand. To help meet these challenges, the California Department of Transportation’s District 7 has awarded Jacobs two new contracts focused on enhancing mobility and supporting community wellbeing across Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Through an on-call contract, Jacobs will provide full construction management services for a range of projects involving freeways, highways, roads, bridges and tunnels. These efforts aim to improve traffic flow, increase safety and modernize infrastructure for communities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, and surrounding areas. Next-level travel: Jacobs powers terminal transformation at Miami International Airport

Jacobs is part of the team delivering architectural and engineering professional services for the Central Terminal Redevelopment - Phase 2 project at Miami International Airport (MIA). The effort aims to modernize and enhance the airport's central terminal to meet the needs of today’s travelers and improve the overall passenger experience. MIA is the fastest-growing airport in the U.S. with more than 190,000 passengers and employees passing through daily. The central terminal redevelopment is a key part of its broader infrastructure enhancement plans. Phase 2 improvements include expanding the queueing area, raising the ceiling and roof to bring in more natural light, consolidating checkpoints and renovating the curbside façade on the second level to unify the airport’s exterior appearance. Jacobs advances Milwaukee Estuary cleanup with new EPA task order

For more than two decades, Jacobs has supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through its Superfund and Great Lakes Architect Engineer Services (SFGLAES) contracts. Now, under the new SFGLAES contract, Jacobs will continue advancing environmental cleanup and restoration in the Wisconsin Great Lakes area with a new remedial design task order. The new task order focuses on 12 miles along the Milwaukee Estuary, including the area where the Milwaukee, Menomonee and Kinnickinnic Rivers meet in downtown Milwaukee and flow into Lake Michigan. Designated an Area of Concern (AOC) in 1987 under the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement between Canada and the U.S., the Milwaukee Estuary has long been affected by river modifications, habitat loss and pollution. Jacobs’ work under this task order brings the estuary one step closer to being removed from the AOC list. The team is currently performing the remedial design as well as conducting data evaluation and community involvement tasks as a continuation of previously completed project phases including various remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and preliminary design investigation tasks to support the future remediation effort. The effort will target contaminated sediment in tributaries and nearshore waters of Lake Michigan, address nonpoint source pollution, enhance recreational water quality and restore fish and wildlife habitats.
