Mary-Jane Wood

Principal Urban Designer & Geodesign Lead
Cities & Places

Mary-Jane Wood is a principal urban designer and geodesign lead at Jacobs. She uses geodesign, a data-led way of testing design choices through geographic information and digital modeling, to support better decisions about how places serve communities and the built environment.

Mary-Jane works with clients to shape places that respond to local needs while planning for growth and environmental change. Her work brings design thinking together with spatial evidence, giving project teams a clearer view of how plans may affect people, movement, land use and long-term resilience.

She enables clients to explore options early, understand trade-offs and make decisions with greater confidence. Her work reflects a belief that better places come from evidence-led collaboration and design that puts people first.
