Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) selected Jacobs to provide construction engineering and inspection services for transportation improvements along the I-285 corridor serving Fulton and Cobb counties in District 7. The project will advance roadway, bridge and safety improvements that strengthen mobility across one of Georgia’s most heavily traveled regions.
Keeping travelers moving during construction
Delivering major transportation improvements while minimizing disruption is a challenge in busy transportation corridors. Drawing on more than two decades of experience supporting GDOT programs, Jacobs will keep projects moving safely and efficiently while reducing impacts on local communities. Through construction oversight, quality management and coordination across project teams, Jacobs will support the successful delivery of critical transportation investments.

Jacobs will leverage its data-driven traffic analysis capabilities utilizing StreetLight to optimize construction staging, lane closures and detour routes throughout project delivery. Combining real-time traffic data with decades of field experience, the team will make informed decisions that improve safety and maintain mobility.
This approach will enable the team to better understand travel patterns, reducing congestion impacts and supporting efficient construction operations across one of the region’s busiest transportation corridors.

The program promotes infrastructure resilience through environmental stewardship and responsible construction practices. Jacobs brings extensive experience managing stormwater requirements and erosion control measures as well as environmental compliance on complex transportation projects.
