Jacobs has been appointed as a Delivery Partner to the Environment Agency’s 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework to support its understanding and forecasting of flood risk associated with climate change and improve communities’ resilience to climate-related flooding across England.
We will provide survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological and other professional services to identify and plan for climate change impact. The framework will be used to deliver national, catchment and local scale flood risk mapping and modelling – providing the Environment Agency with detailed insights into potential flood and coastal risk to inform future investment decisions and risk management requirements.
The appointment builds on our past work, including TEAM2100, a major flood risk management program; three projects of national significance: National Flood Risk Management Program, National Coastal Erosion Risk Mapping Program and Long-Term Investment Scenarios; and guidance and data analytics for improved flood risk management.
“This framework supports the Environment Agency’s long-term goals to create greater resilience against climate-related flooding and reduce impact on people, the environment and the economy,” says Jacobs Senior Vice President Kate Kenny. “By bringing our industry-leading flood risk management capability enabled by our data solutions to this strategic initiative, we continue to play a critical role in safeguarding and enhancing our living environment.”
The Environment Agency 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework Manager Sonya Evans says: “The Mapping and Modelling Framework underpins the work of the Environment Agency, enabling our teams to make informed investment decisions based on data and evidence. The high standard of tender submissions shows the skills and capabilities of the U.K. industry, and we look forward to working with the successful delivery partners both nationally and locally.”
“The new Mapping and Modelling Framework builds on the success and learning from the previous framework, and we would like to thank everyone who has been involved in its development,” says the Environment Agency Framework Renewals Programme Manager Ben Gardner. “At the heart of all our frameworks is collaboration and innovation, delivering projects together that protect and enhance communities and the environment.”
Jacobs is one of the suppliers named on this multi-award national framework which the Environment Agency values at £52.5 million ($65 million) over three years, with the option of an additional year valued at up to £17.5 million ($21 million).
