Engineering India’s Future: Jacobs Partners with GSV

Jacobs partners with GSV, a central university in Vadodara, to shape India’s next generation of semiconductor engineers

Jacobs has launched a strategic partnership with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a central university in Vadodara, India, to support the development of academic programs in semiconductor design and electronics manufacturing. This curriculum augments GSV’s existing degree programs in rail and transport engineering, program management and information technology. This collaboration reflects our commitment to community-building in India’s rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The partnership

The Jacobs–GSV partnership is a strategic and mission-driven collaboration aimed at empowering future engineers and strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem. Together, Jacobs and GSV are developing academic programs, contributing to curriculum design and promoting industry experience to prepare students for careers in high-impact sectors such as semiconductors and logistics. The partnership also supports the establishment of centers of excellence in semiconductors and railways and may include joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges and student engagement — all reflecting Jacobs’ commitment to community-building and creating opportunities for future generations in India.

Convocation highlights

On July 27, 2025, Jacobs’ David Krick attended GSV’s third convocation as a member of the university’s Academic Council. A semiconductor industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, David is leading Jacobs’ efforts to support GSV’s curriculum development in electronics and semiconductor engineering. His presence underscored Jacobs’ commitment to academic excellence and national progress. Sharing the stage with Shri Ashwini Vishnaw — India’s Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics and IT — David witnessed the energy of a graduating class ready to serve both India and the industry. “It’s exciting to help future generations be part of something — and to see them heading into the working world with such purpose,” he said.
