Jacobs awarded contract for Ma'aden's Umm Wu'al phosphate project in Saudi Arabia

PASADENA, Calif., May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today it was awarded a contract by Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) to provide a bankable feasibility study/front end engineering design (FEED) for its Umm Wu'al Phosphate Project in the Sirhan-Turaif region, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Officials did not disclose the contract value. Ma'aden is proceeding with the development of its Umm Wu'al Phosphate Project, a major phosphate resource in the north of Saudi Arabia, to supply merchant grade phosphoric acid to the fertilizer, food and animal feed industries. The greenfield project is located 35 kilometers northeast of Turaif and approximately 100 kilometers to the west of the Ma'aden Phosphate Company beneficiation complex. The project envisages an open pit mine and beneficiation process, adding approximately 1.5 million metric tons to Ma'aden's planned annual phosphate capacity, which is expected to be marketed locally and internationally. In addition to the new phosphoric acid (MGA) production, the project will supply phosphate intermediate products, including purified phosphoric acid, sodium tri-poly-phosphate, mono-calcium phosphate and di-calcium phosphate, to augment Ma'aden's phosphate product mix. The overall project requires a power distribution plant and associated infrastructure. Jacobs announces contract with the Port of Houston Authority for the rehabilitation of wharves 1 and 2 at the barbours cut terminal

PASADENA, Calif., June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it received a contract from the Port of Houston Authority to perform professional engineering services for the rehabilitation of Wharves 1 and 2 at the Barbours Cut Terminal in Morgans Point, Texas. The primary purpose of the project is to allow the wharves to accommodate larger ship-to-shore cranes. Officials estimate the construction value to be in excess of $50 million, with a design contract value of $4.9 million. Construction of this project is expected to be complete by fall 2014. Jacobs' scope includes developing construction documents for the upgrade of approximately 2670 feet of the wharves. In addition to structural improvements to the wharves, other elements include new fenders, crane infrastructure and appurtenances, paving, two stevedore support buildings, lighting, and related work. Jacobs on joint venture team delivering final design for Sound Transit

PASADENA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Oct. 9, 2012 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it is a member of the joint venture team that was awarded a final design contract by Sound Transit of Seattle, Wash. for its East Link light rail extension. H-J-H Final Design Partners (H-J-H) is a joint venture of HNTB, Jacobs and Hatch Mott MacDonald. The Sound Transit contract awarded to H-J-H is valued at $88 million. Under the terms of the contract, H-J-H is delivering approximately seven miles of double-track light rail transit, eight stations, a cut-and-cover tunnel in downtown Bellevue, and long-span bridge crossings over interstates 405 and 90 for the South Bellevue to Overlake Transit Center portion of the East Link extension. Jacobs awarded seawall contract from Seattle DOT

PASADENA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sep. 17, 2013 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was awarded a contract from the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) for Construction Management Services on the Elliott Bay Seawall Project (EBSP) in Seattle, Wash. Officials estimate the construction value to be $300 million for Phase 1 of the project. Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is managing the construction of approximately 3,700 feet of new seawall infrastructure in an urban waterfront area that supports public recreation, tourism and commerce. Jacobs’ scope of work includes oversight, inspection, monitoring, coordination and documentation of the project. The EBSP replaces the existing seawall with a structure that meets current safety and design standards by replacing deteriorated seawall structures that were constructed between 1916 and 1934.
