Course overview
This course is designed for professionals with some asset management experience who want to apply asset management principles in a practical, structured way.
The training uses adult learning techniques that combine short presentations, applied theory, real-world examples and hands-on exercises. Participants work through the course using MoneyPit Manor, a fictional apartment building facing common infrastructure, risk and service delivery challenges. Exercises are based on realistic data and scenarios drawn from real projects.
The course is structured around five modules that reflect good practice asset management and align with ISO 55000, PAS 55 and the Institute of Asset Management learning framework.
By the end of the course, participants leave with a clear understanding of asset management principles and the confidence to apply them within their own organization.

Course delivery
The training is delivered through a structured, instructor-led format designed to support active participation, discussion and practical application.
The course is typically delivered through live online, facilitated sessions, using a format that supports collaboration, group exercises and real-time interaction with experienced asset management practitioners.
A standard course includes four four-hour sessions, usually scheduled over a two-week period. Attendance at all sessions is required to complete the course.
For participants planning to sit the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Certificate exam, an optional 90-minute recap session is available after the core sessions to reinforce key concepts and exam focus areas.
Infrastructure asset management endorsed training
The course is aligned with the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Professional Certificate Exam and supports participants preparing for the IAM Certificate exam.
The IAM Certificate and Diploma examinations are is available online globally through Pearson VUE, allowing candidates to sit the exam at a time and location that suits them. The IAM Certificate is a globally recognized professional qualification developed and managed by the Institute of Asset Management.
