  • Red and Purple Line station
    Red and Purple Line Modernization

    Chicago’s busiest rail corridor just got its biggest upgrade in a century. Jacobs helped deliver one of the Chicago Transit Authority’s largest-ever design-build projects — replacing aging infrastructure, rebuilding stations and introducing modern, accessible, rider-focused service that strengthens communities and keeps the city moving.

    Logan Square Redesign

    In Chicago’s historic Logan Square, the Chicago Department of Transportation reimagined Milwaukee Avenue to improve safety, accessibility and community connection. Jacobs played a key role in turning big data and public input into innovative street designs that prioritize pedestrians, cyclists and transit users, and transformed a complex intersection into a vibrant, people-focused space.

    Chicago Department of Water Management Program

    Jacobs, as part of the CTR joint venture, helped deliver over $3.4 billion in capital improvements to one of the world’s largest water and wastewater systems in Chicago. From advanced plant upgrades and nearly 200,000 new water meters to integrated IT solutions, the program boosted efficiency, resilience and service — reducing repair times and improving meter accuracy.

    Logan Square Blue Line Station Headhouse

    Jacobs is working with the Chicago Department of Transportation to design a striking new headhouse and canopy for the CTA Logan Square Blue Line station — creating a modern, community-focused transit hub. This transformative design will integrate bus and train transfers, public art, bike-share, and vibrant gathering spaces, delivering an iconic centerpiece for the neighborhood.

  • West Lake Commuter Rail
    West Lake Commuter Rail Corridor

    The West Lake Corridor project, the largest public transit project in Indiana’s history, extended the South Shore commuter rail eight miles, slashing travel time to Chicago to just 47 minutes. Jacobs served as Designer of Record, delivering solutions to create jobs, improve accessibility and drive economic vitality across the greater Chicago metropolitan region.     Chicago O’Hare and Midway Airport Modernization

    Jacobs is redefining how Chicago moves the world. Delivering comprehensive program management services, our team is guiding the City of Chicago’s Terminal Area Plan and Capital Improvement Program at O’Hare and Midway International Airports — delivering smarter infrastructure, enhancing safety and efficiency and setting new standards for passenger experience and community engagement.

    Jacobs helped transform Fulton Market from its industrial past into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly destination. From designing the iconic gateway arch to creating flexible streetscapes with historic elements and modern safety features, our variety of design projects blended heritage with innovation to support a thriving mixed-use community and one of today's hottest Chicago neighborhoods.

  • Elgin O'Hare
    Elgin O’Hare Western Access

    Jacobs is leading design coordination for the Elgin O’Hare Western Access project, creating a vital new link between communities, commerce and O’Hare International Airport. Spanning 17 miles with 15 new or improved interchanges, this innovative corridor is reshaping regional mobility and driving economic growth.

    Jacobs worked with the Chicago Department of Transportation to deliver 64 miles of innovative bikeways across 29 corridors—introducing protected lanes, safer intersections, and pedestrian-friendly enhancements. These transformative designs are improving mobility, reducing crashes, and creating a more connected, sustainable city for everyone.
