By 2028, Los Angeles will have one of the nation’s most advanced water reuse facilities, capable of transforming 30 million gallons per day of treated wastewater into clean water for groundwater replenishment. The Donald C. Tillman Advanced Water Purification Facility — designed and built by Jacobs — combines cutting-edge technology, public education and sustainable design to help the city maximize water reuse.
Jacobs is part of a tri-venture team providing professional railway, structural, civil, utilities, and geotechnical services for the replacement of Portal Bridge over the Hackensack River on the Northeast Corridor, the busiest stretch of rail in the U.S.

Jacobs worked with the Environment Agency and partners to sustainably build a new seawall and rock revetment in a £12 million ($15.6 million) flood defense scheme to protect over 3,000 properties and businesses along a stretch of the Essex coastline.
Jacobs is working with Anglian Water and several partners on a project funded through Ofwat’s Innovation Fund to target a step change reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and electricity use in used water treatment and provide a new renewable energy source through green hydrogen production.
