Located at Micron’s Manassas, Virginia campus, the Team Member Center was envisioned as a central hub for connection, creativity and care. Designed primarily as the campus cafeteria, the facility includes a mix of fitness, wellness, collaboration and social spaces to support a diverse and growing workforce.
Jacobs’ design team worked closely with Micron to help the space reflect the company’s values. The architecture emphasizes transparency and flow, with visual connections between departments and natural light guiding movement throughout the building.
Lighting and mass timber were key design features, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. Awarded the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Illumination Award of Merit, the lighting strategy uses layered illumination to create zones for focus, relaxation and collaboration. The project also ranked first in the corporate design category for projects over 20,000 square feet at the 2025 Annual International Interior Design Awards' Visionary Interior Design Awards section. The mass-timber coffer structural system creates an iconic and warm space. Recognizing this unique design solution, the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers awarded the facility with its 2024 Outstanding Design Award.
