Fred Lowrance

Principal and National Practice Leader, Advance Planning
Cities & Places

For more than three decades, Fred Lowrance has worked with organizations to answer one of the most important questions in any capital project: What do we really need?

Educated and trained as an architect, Fred built his career enabling clients to uncover and articulate their needs before design begins. His work focuses on pre-design planning and guiding and aligning owners and stakeholders through complex decisions when the impact of those choices is high and project commitments are still flexible. Through facilitated discussions, operational analysis and scenario testing, Fred supports clients to identify competing priorities and evaluate alternatives before projects move into design and construction.

Fred works across Jacobs to connect clients with the expertise and capabilities needed to deliver successful outcomes. He guides complex planning efforts across the United States for industries including corporate, industrial, aviation, higher education and the federal government.

Since joining Jacobs in 2002, Fred has served in multiple leadership roles. Throughout that time, he has built strong relationships across the organization and mentored emerging professionals. He says one of the most rewarding parts of his work is seeing colleagues grow in their careers and step into leadership roles.
