Ayush Bhandari
Ayush Bhandari is a bridge engineering professional whose work focuses on helping infrastructure owners better understand, quantify and manage risk. He has extensive experience developing probabilistic risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability models and resilience strategies for transportation and critical infrastructure systems exposed to hazards such as flooding, extreme weather, earthquakes and other disruptive events. His work combines structural engineering principles with advanced analytics to support more informed decisions related to asset management, resilience investment and long-term infrastructure performance.
At Jacobs, Ayush has contributed to advancing quantitative risk assessment approaches that enable agencies to evaluate infrastructure vulnerabilities, compare resilience improvement alternatives and prioritize investments using objective, data-driven methods. Prior to joining Jacobs, he supported federally funded research focused on transportation asset management, reliability-based infrastructure evaluation and network resilience. He also worked on Government of Japan-funded recovery and resilience programs in Nepal, where he contributed to post-disaster reconstruction, infrastructure risk assessment and resilience planning following major seismic events. Ayush is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in structural engineering at Trinity College Dublin, where his research focuses on probabilistic risk assessment and resilience of critical infrastructure systems.
