Iain Blackwell
Iain Blackwell is a chartered engineer and chartered water and environmental manager with nearly 30 years of experience in water and environmental engineering across the United Kingdom and internationally. His expertise includes flood risk management, climate resilience, climate adaptation and mitigation, and broader water resources and environmental planning.
He has supported projects across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, working with public- and private-sector clients on strategic flood risk and vulnerability assessments at regional, city and community scales. His experience also includes major infrastructure developments across aviation, rail, highways, water and energy sectors, where he has advised on climate-related risks and long-term resilience strategies.
Iain has played key roles on Development Consent Order programs, including serving as an expert witness on complex infrastructure projects. He helps clients navigate evolving environmental challenges, align infrastructure planning with climate resilience goals and deliver practical, future-focused solutions.
