Rob Carlton

Rob Carlton is capability director for Jacobs’ Bridges and Structures Group in the United Kingdom and Europe, where he leads a team of approximately 300 professionals delivering projects across transportation infrastructure markets. He is focused on strengthening technical excellence, sustainability, standardization and efficient delivery across the practice. 

Throughout his career, Rob has held leadership roles including structures lead, project manager and governance lead on major highway and light rail programs for national and local authority clients. He has extensive experience delivering complex bridge structures as part of large infrastructure schemes, combining technical expertise with practical delivery insight. 

Rob’s background includes conceptual and detailed structural design, structural analysis and significant site experience across a wide range of structure types. He helps clients navigate complex delivery environments by aligning technical quality, constructability and project performance to support resilient, long-term infrastructure outcomes. 

A chartered civil and structural engineer, Rob is a member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers.
