Supplying Europe with critical heart valve technologies just got a bit easier with completion of Edwards Lifesciences’ new Gold LEED-certified manufacturing facility in Ireland’s National Technology Park just outside Limerick. Recipient of the 2022 Irish Construction Excellence Award in the “Industrial Over €15m” category, as well as a 2022 Irish Building & Design Award for Industrial Building Project of the Year, the facility was constructed using an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) procurement approach and innovative digital tools.
A global leader in structural heart technology headquartered in Irvine, California, with manufacturing facilities around the globe, Edwards Lifesciences wanted production capacity in Ireland to manufacture critical components for its heart valve technologies as part of their global supply strategy to support future growth and reliability of supply to patients worldwide.
Commenting on LinkedIn on the project’s receipt of the Irish Construction Excellence award, Senior Director of Plant Operations Engineering for Edwards Lifesciences Diarmuid Collins says, “Deserved recognition to Jacobs for construction excellence with this fantastic facility in Limerick.”
