Alan Fotheringham has more than 35 years of experience working with clients to plan and deliver resilient, low-carbon energy systems. As Jacobs’ low carbon solutions director, he supports organizations to navigate the growing complexity of the energy transition, connecting long-term decarbonization goals with practical, deliverable solutions that balance sustainability, affordability and energy security.
Alan brings deep expertise across both established and emerging low-carbon technologies, including alternative fuels, carbon capture, hydrogen and its derivatives, advanced nuclear and long-duration energy storage. Taking a systems-based approach, he empowers clients to understand how energy generation, infrastructure, supply chains and markets interact, supporting better long-term investment decisions.
Working across Jacobs’ global teams and partners, Alan enables clients to move from ambition to commercially viable programs that accelerate the transition to low-carbon energy.
