Charles Schelpe

Charles has 40 years of global experience of flood risk management, river, water, public health and infrastructure projects. His experience spans the planning, design and delivery of major fluvial, tidal and coastal flood infrastructure. Throughout his career, he has worked with clients to develop solutions ranging from storm surge barriers, flood and lock gates, flood storage reservoirs and flood defense systems to erosion protection, managed realignment and wetland creation.  

As Jacobs’ global principal, flood infrastructure engineering, Charles provides technical leadership  for fluvial, coastal and storm surge barrier related flood resiliency projects worldwide. His project experience spanning the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia includes the East Side Coastal Resiliency project in New York, the San Francisco Seawall Resiliency Project and the South West Coastal Barrier/Barrage Feasibility Study in Singapore.
