Eugene Smethurst

Bringing more than 35 years of engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure and transformation experience, Eugene works with clients to tackle complex industrial challenges and strengthen the capabilities needed across the industrial and defense sectors. 

As Client Account Director, Industrial, Europe, Eugene is focused on Jacobs’ industrial and defense industries, bringing together expertise from across the business to address complex infrastructure, manufacturing transformation, supply chain and operational resilience challenges. 

Eugene’s career spans engineering, manufacturing and senior leadership, beginning as a Royal Navy aircraft engineer before moving into automotive manufacturing and subsequently leading major industrial and infrastructure programs. More recently, he has supported the defense sector, including working with the U.K. Submarine Defence Agency to develop infrastructure strategies, innovative manufacturing solutions and adaptable supply chain approaches to strengthen the U.K.’s industrial capability.
