Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been awarded a contract by Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation (CKPC) to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) services for a proposed greenfield, integrated propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene facility located in Sturgeon County, Alberta, Canada. CKPC is a joint venture of Pembina Pipeline Corporation (Pembina) of Canada and Petrochemical Industries Company of Kuwait.

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been selected by Teck Resources Limited and Aurubis AG to perform the pre-feasibility study (PFS) for a proposed copper cathode production facility in Peru. Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs will provide capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) estimates to Teck and Aurubis for determining project pre-feasibility. Teck and Aurubis’ conceptual copper cathode production facility would incorporate their proprietary CESL copper-arsenic process technology – providing high copper and precious metal recoveries, controlled arsenic deportment, and reduced environmental impact compared to traditional pyrometallurgical smelter processing facilities in respect to air, dust and water.

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. signed a sulfur recovery technology licensor agreement with Paqell, a joint venture between Shell Global Solutions and Paques BV, for use of its THIOPAQ O&G (Oil and Gas) technology in refineries and gas treating facilities across the globe. This agreement positions Jacobs as the only gas treating and sulfur recovery licensing company to license THIOPAQ O&G to low capacity sulfur facility owners, providing a reduced capital expenditure (CAPEX) operational expenditure (OPEX) option, which eliminates the chemical waste produced by alternative technologies.
