Jacobs Is Selected by Children's Hospital of Orange County to Manage Construction of New Patient Tower

PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it has been selected by Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) to provide construction management services for a new patient tower in Orange, Calif.

Jacobs' officials did not disclose the contract value.

The project involves building a new 424,300-square-foot patient tower, renovation work within the existing hospital campus, and upgrading the existing central plant facility.

The new patient tower will be built in phases through 2020, when the hospital's total bed count is expected to be 380. It will feature innovative patient safety and quality principles and advanced technology.

Since opening doors with 62 beds in 1964, CHOC has added many services and facilities to become the regional pediatric healthcare system serving families across Southern California. This latest expansion represents a monumental step towards the organization's vision to become nationally recognized as a premier children's hospital.
