Jacobs Receives Contract on the Florida Department of Transportation's I-95 Project

PASADENA, Calif., April 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that the Community Asphalt Corp. team, for which Jacobs is the design engineer, received a contract to provide design-build services on the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Five project to widen Interstate 95 (Palm Bay Road to Fiske Blvd.) from four lanes to six lanes and to construct a new interchange at the Pineda Causeway Extension in Brevard County, Fla.

Officials estimate the project value at $197 million, with construction scheduled for completion in December 2011.

Jacobs will provide highway and bridge design services for the project, which includes 18 miles of new and reconstructed roadway, drainage system improvements, bridge widenings and replacements, noise and retaining walls, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) modifications.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon stated, "This significant project will utilize our expertise in delivering design-build services for major infrastructure work. We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with the FDOT, and we look forward to working with our partner, Community Asphalt, in completing the project."
