Jacobs Receives Contract from City of Dallas Water Utilities Department

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the City of Dallas Water Utilities Department (DWU) to provide construction management services for their Water Facilities Project Management Program.

Jacobs' officials did not provide the contract value, yet estimate construction at $225 million.

This program entails improvements to the Bachman and East Side Water Treatment Plants. Originally constructed in 1929, Bachman is DWU's oldest operating treatment plant and East Side is DWU's largest treatment plant with a 440 million-gallon-per-day current rated capacity.

Jacobs' services will include construction planning, coordination, and management of projects for a five-year period scheduled which began October 1, 2008, with an option to extend the time of performance for an additional three years. Jacobs will provide project management and serve as the focal point for the coordination and communication between the contractors, design professionals, and DWU's management staff.

Jacobs has served as DWU's construction manager since 2003, under their previous $450 million expansion program delivering DWU's critical water supply facilities when needed and without disrupting plant operations.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Bob Clement stated, "We are pleased to continue our long standing track record of service to DWU on this program which is critical to maintain an adequate water supply to the 2.3 million people in Dallas and 22 customer cities."

Jacobs, with over 56,000 employees and revenues exceeding $10.0 billion, provides technical, professional, and construction services globally.
