PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that a project it executed on behalf of Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals received the 2014 Facility of the Year Award (FOYA) from the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), the sponsor of the awards program.
Pfizer Ireland’s Network Strategy Implementation Expansion Capacity project re-purposed existing manufacturing space to add capacity for new vaccine and multi-product, small-to-medium scale drug substance bioprocess suites at Pfizer’s Grange Castle plant in Clondalkin, South County Dublin.
Jacobs provided design services for the project, utilizing a lean management strategy program during the design process to ensure flow and operations. In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Chris Nagel stated, “It’s a pleasure to celebrate the success of this award-winning project with Pfizer. We value our long-standing relationship and appreciate the trust they continue to place in us to support their business needs.”
The FOYA program recognizes pharmaceutical manufacturing projects that use new and innovative technologies to enhance project delivery and reduce production costs of high quality medicines for patients worldwide. Jacobs has designed projects that were selected as the overall FOYA winner for the past three years.
