At Jacobs, inclusion is more than a statement—it’s one of our core values. As part of its ongoing commitment to Indigenous reconciliation, Jacobs Canada joined the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program in 2025. The PAIR program recognizes corporate performance in Indigenous relations, signaling that a company is a good business partner, a great place to work and committed to economic prosperity in Indigenous communities.
The PAIR program provides a structured framework for organizations to strengthen relationships with Indigenous businesses through their four drivers of Community Relationships, Employment, Business Development and Leadership Actions. By signing at the commitment level in 2025, Jacobs Canada is taking a proactive approach to integrating Indigenous perspectives into our business operations while supporting improved access for Indigenous-owned enterprises for opportunities within the industry, promoting Jacobs Canada as a top-tier workplace for Indigenous employees.
A legacy of progress
Jacobs Canada has long been a champion of Indigenous engagement and supplier diversity, supporting initiatives that create lasting benefits for Indigenous communities. As an Indigenous Procurement Champion with CCIB, Jacobs Canada has already advanced Indigenous supplier engagement by supporting procurement opportunities for Indigenous businesses and employees.
“This commitment is about more than business—it’s about building trust, fostering collaboration, employment and driving economic empowerment,” says Jacobs Vice President of Canada Operations Heather MacDonald. “Through the PAIR program, we’re reinforcing our dedication to Indigenous reconciliation and sustainable partnerships that create lasting impact for Indigenous communities, and all the communities we serve across Canada.”
Driving meaningful change in Canada
Jacobs Canada’s commitment to Indigenous Reconciliation aligns with its broader mission to leave things better than we found them, and respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action. Jacobs Canada is actively involved in transformational infrastructure projects that prioritize sustainability, community engagement and economic inclusivity.
From major transit expansions to environmentally responsible infrastructure solutions, Jacobs Canada works alongside Indigenous partners to co-create projects that reflect their values and priorities. By committing to the CCIB PAIR program, through each project, Jacobs Canada is building a more prosperous future for Indigenous communities.
“Signing on to the CCIB PAIR program is just one step in Jacobs Canada’s ongoing journey toward Indigenous reconciliation,” adds Jacobs Canada Environmental Services Lead Bree Milne. “Through continued collaboration, investment and advocacy, Jacobs remains dedicated to creating opportunities, fostering partnerships and driving meaningful change in the industry to build a more inclusive and sustainable future—one where Indigenous businesses and employees thrive, and Reconciliation is more than a promise—it’s a reality.”
