Engineers Ireland Director General Damien Owens (second from left) presents certificate to the Jacobs team.
Jacobs has been awarded Engineers Ireland’s Continuing Professional Development Accredited Employer Standard, a recognition of our commitment to fostering continuous learning, innovation and professional growth across its teams in Ireland.
With about 1,300 specialists working in Dublin, Cork and Belfast, Jacobs is Ireland’s largest provider of engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning services. The Accredited Employer Standard supports organizations in strengthening the competence of engineering professionals and building teams that are agile, adaptable and equipped to develop new solutions. Organizations that achieve the standard are better positioned to navigate change, address disruption and attract and retain talent.
We have played a central role in Ireland’s economic development since opening our first international office in Dublin in 1974. Over the past five decades, we have supported delivery of more than €50 billion ($58B) in critical infrastructure. Current and recent work includes BusConnects Dublin and Cork, EirGrid’s electricity transmission transformation program and major life sciences projects across Munster and Leinster. We also recently completed engineering, procurement and construction management for the first phase of a new biotech campus in Munster, with work now underway on phase two.
Jacobs Senior Vice President Maurice Gillen says: “Achieving accredited employer status is an important milestone for Jacobs in Ireland. Since establishing our presence here more than 50 years ago, our success has been driven by the talent, curiosity and commitment of our people. This accreditation reinforces our longstanding focus on continuous learning and professional development. As we grow, we remain ambitious for the future — investing in our teams, expanding our capabilities and ensuring we have the skills needed to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions for our clients and for Ireland’s evolving economy.”
Engineers Ireland Director General Damien Owens adds: “By fostering leadership, innovation and a continuous learning environment, Jacobs has enabled its people to realize their full potential. It now joins more than 170 organizations that have been awarded the Engineers Ireland Continuing Professional Development Accredited Employer Standard.”
Established in 1835 and with over 30,000 members, Engineers Ireland is one of the oldest and largest professional bodies in Ireland. Members come from every discipline of engineering and range from engineering students to fellows of the profession.
