Argon

AI-powered asset management for wastewater and stormwater networks.

Argon banner

Argon is Jacobs’ Digital OneWater asset management tool for wastewater and stormwater conveyance systems. It helps water utilities create informed, data-driven re-inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation plans for their pipelines and network infrastructure.

Argon (formerly SCREAM) was created to help utilities overcome the challenges of managing field data, prioritizing assets and developing plans and schedules. The solution enhances their ability to process and prioritize vast collections of condition data.

Argon has been used for over a decade on almost 100 projects and has been installed on utilities’ networks across the U.S. Over the years, the tool has been refined with engineering logic and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide accurate condition and risk scores for pipe prioritization. Argon’s AI analysis targets defect combinations with a higher likelihood of failure enabling utilities to implement proactive intervention strategies. Argon is a state-of-the-art, EPA-highlighted sewer and storm management system to help you stay on top of your assets.

Key benefits

  • Robust condition scores

Argon estimates assets’ remaining useful life and calculates risk scores based on detailed asset data and GIS.

  • Incorporate work order history

Recommends and schedules future work orders for both maintenance and structural purposes.

  • Capital and work prioritization

Estimates immediate and life-cycle costs of repair, replacement and rehabilitation and chooses the optimal methodology for corrective action.

  • Customizable and flexible

Argon can be customized for each utility to create tailored recommendations and integrates with and complements existing CMMS and inspection software.

Argon is used three different ways:

  • As a short-term solution to perform analyses for Jacobs’ projects.
  • As part of Jacobs’ web-based Dragonfly software, analyzing the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) results.
  • When installed on a utility’s network, Argon integrates with the existing maintenance management system, inspection software and GIS. Argon can be scheduled to run nightly, becoming a continuous asset management system, giving up to date results with little oversight.
