A Jacobs-led consortium of industry and academic organizations has been awarded funding from the U.K. government to help develop a new type of water turbine designed to improve the viability and potential of U.K. tidal range power projects.

Jacobs (NYSE:J) was selected to operate and maintain The City of Waterbury, Connecticut's 38 million gallon-per-day (mgd) conventional surface water treatment plant. The City estimates the ten-year contract value at $25 million inclusive of engineering services and support for improvements to the overall facility, sludge system, water quality lab and treatment process.

Jacobs (NYSE:J) was selected to operate and maintain Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and manage traffic operations for Florida's Turnpike Enterprise, a division of the Florida Department of Transportation. Jacobs will operate, manage and maintain more than 500 miles of ITS-connected roadway infrastructure across the state.
