Jacobs Celebrates LGBTI+ Pride Month
This summer, Jacobs employees across the world celebrate Pride in style by literally walking the talk on our award-winning inclusive culture.
For members of the LGBTI+ community, Pride is far more than just a parade. With 2019 marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn’s explosive cry for equal rights, the values that Pride stands for – freedom, empowerment, respect, solidarity and remembrance – are more important now than ever.
Against this backdrop, we’re leading several educational events, volunteering programs and Pride celebrations this summer. The most visible of these are the Pride marches in Denver, Washington D.C., Boston, London, Manchester and Glasgow – and, of course, in Dallas, home to our headquarters – where on June 2nd our CEO and Executive Leadership Team marched alongside LGBTI+ employees and allies from across the globe.
One of the happiest participants in the march was our Executive Vice President and Chief Legal and Administrative Officer Joanne Caruso, who also serves as executive sponsor for Prism – our global network for LGBTI+ employees and allies. “There’s so much excitement for Pride from leadership and staff alike,” she enthuses. “Events like this send out a clear message: with Jacobs, you can bring your whole self to work and you will be valued and respected for who you are.”
Jacobs wasin the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, which is the benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.
