Meet Britney Gray
Chattanooga, TN, U.S.
Some professionals manage teams. Britney Gray develops them.
As resource planning manager, Britney sees potential before it’s fully formed — and knows exactly how to nurture it. Her career has been a masterclass in empowering others, creating strong cultures and turning strategy into meaningful action. Whether she’s leading a team building session, assisting with project startup onboarding or helping a seasoned leader map out their next chapter, Britney brings compassion and purpose to every conversation.
From storytelling to strategy
Britney’s journey began at the University of St. Thomas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business and human resource management. Even then, she was drawn to connection — networking and managing social media platforms to design content that helped students feel seen and supported. That early passion for communication and connection evolved into a career focused on people, process and purpose. Her ability to engage, inspire and organize became the foundation for her work in talent development.
She expanded her expertise in instructional design and learner engagement, then transitioned into recruiting to better understand how to identify and align talent with organizational goals. Later, she focused on career development, guiding individuals through growth and transition with clarity and confidence.
Each of these experiences has shaped Britney’s approach to her work, giving her a holistic view of the employee journey and fueling her commitment to helping people thrive.
Building careers, not just filling roles
In 2021, Britney joined Jacobs’ Operations Management and Facilities Services (OMFS) practice to support the newly developed Resource Planning Group — a team dedicated to leadership development, recruitment and retention, and fostering a high-performance culture. Their work has increased new hires and significantly reduced turnover in OMFS.
Today, she leads that team, driving a wide range of initiatives that help employees grow and succeed. Her impact includes:
- Mentorship: She’s expanded both formal and informal mentoring programs, providing employees at all levels with access to guidance, connection and community.
- Internship programs: Britney established an internship program that goes beyond the basics, offering hands-on learning, exceptional mentorship and partnerships with local colleges, building a robust talent pipeline that has boosted hiring across OMFS.
- Culture coaching: From trust-building workshops to communication training, Britney has coached operations teams across the U.S. to foster cultures of collaboration, innovation and belonging.
- Onboarding: She’s enhanced virtual onboarding experiences to be sure every new hire feels welcomed, informed and aligned with the company’s mission from day one.
- Succession planning: Britney has guided over 130 leaders through personalized succession plans and career conversations.
- Training: She’s led in-person and virtual professional development programs for over 500 staff annually, strengthening confidence and essential skills in business acumen, public speaking, everyday systems and team leadership.
What drives her
Britney is energized by innovation and is grounded in purpose. Her mission? Empower leaders by building strong relationships, streamlining operations, connecting them to key resources and being sure they feel supported and heard.
“Talent development isn’t just about filling seats — it’s about helping people see what’s possible, building their confidence and putting them in roles where they feel empowered to grow. When we invest in people, we invest in the future of not only the company, but also the community.”
