Jacobs Senior Director of Operations and Global Principal, EHS

Brian, can you tell us a bit about your role at Jacobs?

I lead growth and delivery for a global team of professionals passionate about helping clients use technology to manage compliance, risk and operational needs. That includes setting strategy, guiding our sales efforts and ensuring successful project delivery across our global team of project managers and supervisors. It’s a dynamic role that touches every part of how we support our clients in advancing their EHS goals through digital transformation.

What are some of the biggest challenges our clients face in EHS, and how does your team help solve them?

One of the biggest challenges is embedding EHS into a company’s core culture—especially in industries where production and operations often come first. Too often, EHS becomes reactive. We help shift clients toward a proactive mindset, where compliance and safety are foundational to business operations. By doing so, we support organizations in creating safer environments and more sustainable operations.

How does digital technology support this shift in mindset?

Digital tools have matured to a point where managing EHS data doesn’t have to feel like a burden. Instead, we integrate technology directly into our clients’ daily processes—think inspections, hazard observations and data capture during routine tasks. With simplified integration and smart reporting, we create seamless experiences that align with real-world workflows and enable clients to stay ahead of compliance and risk.

You’ve mentioned that you enjoy helping clients improve their current systems. Can you talk more about that?

Absolutely. One of the most rewarding parts of our work is conducting current-state assessments. These projects help clients identify quick wins and long-term opportunities for improvement. Often, it’s about helping organizations move away from outdated or siloed systems and into scalable, efficient digital ecosystems. It’s a simple, cost-effective way to start transforming how EHS is managed.

Is there a project that stands out in your career?

Several, actually. Long-term engagements with clients like Archer Daniels Midland, HF Sinclair, and Olin come to mind. In each case, we delivered end-to-end solutions—automating data flows, embedding compliance logic and reducing manual work. These weren’t just technical upgrades; they were strategic shifts that empowered our clients to manage performance and risk more effectively. That’s the kind of impact we strive for in every project.
