Jacobs Receives Oil Sands Project

PASADENA, Calif., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from a major Oil & Gas Company for engineering of a thermal facility in northeast Alberta, Canada.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

Jacobs will perform pre-engineering design specifications (Pre-EDS), EDS, detailed engineering, and procurement services for the in-situ oil sands central processing facility. Engineering activities began November 2008, and Jacobs is scheduled to complete its scope in February, 2011, executing 20 percent or more of the engineering from its Mumbai, India, office.

In making this announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Chip Mitchell stated, "We have worked with oil producers to develop economically viable production facilities for more than 30 years, and in that time have completed in excess of 40 heavy oil recovery projects. We are building a long-term relationship and this project is an excellent next step."
