CH2M HILL Awarded Two-Year FEMA Contract

DENVER, 14 August, 2006 — CH2M HILL, a global full-service engineering, construction, and operations firm, has been awarded a competitive bid, two-year Individual Assistance-Technical Assistance Contract (IA-TAC) by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Under the terms of the contract, CH2M HILL will support FEMA Individual Assistance programs in response to a variety of natural or man-made disasters or incidents, including floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes. The scope of work includes:

  • Site assessment for potential group sites related to placement of temporary housing
  • Site inspections for potential placement of temporary housing on personal property
  • Installation of temporary housing units and staging area support
  • Group site design for building and placement of temporary housing units
  • General construction services
  • Facility management

CH2M HILL is currently supporting FEMA's disaster response to the 2005 hurricanes in the Gulf Coast. Through these efforts CH2M HILL is working directly with the Gulf Coast citizens, local small businesses, and FEMA to provide site assessments and hauling and installing of temporary housing units. To date CH2M HILL has installed more than 23,000 temporary homes in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
