BHP Selects Jacobs to Deliver Engineering Services for New Nickel Sulphate Facility

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been awarded an engineering services contract from BHP for a new nickel sulphate facility located at the company’s Kwinana Nickel Refinery in Western Australia. The new facility is being designed to produce 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of nickel sulphate hexahydrate, with the option to increase processing capacity to 200,000 tpa. At full capacity, the plant will process 44,000 tonnes of nickel powder and be the world’s largest nickel sulphate facility. The nickel sulphate produced at the facility will be used in batteries.

Jacobs Joint Venture Selected to Design Melbourne’s West Gate Tunnel Project

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., through its joint venture with Aurecon, has been selected by John Holland and CPB Contractors consortium to carry out the engineering design for the $5.1 billion (AU$6.7 billion) West Gate Tunnel Project that is now proceeding after receipt of all environmental and planning approvals. The project is located in Melbourne’s inner west and will become Melbourne’s alternative to the West Gate Bridge.

Jacobs Appointed as EPCM Contractor for New Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has received an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract from Pfizer Inc. for a new gene therapy manufacturing facility located at the company’s manufacturing site in Sanford, North Carolina. Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs will perform all required services to design, build and qualify the multi-product facility, which will manufacture gene therapy products upon completion. In addition to EPCM, Jacobs will provide design, expediting and commissioning services for the project.

Borealis Selects Jacobs to Conduct Engineering Study for Chemical Plant in Belgium

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been awarded a contract to complete a front end engineering design (FEED) study for a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant located at the existing Borealis production site in Kallo, Belgium. The contract award follows the successful completion of the feasibility study for the plant. When complete, the new PDH plant will have a targeted annual production capacity of 740 kilotons, making it one of the largest and most efficient facilities in the world.

Jacobs and CH2M Announce CH2M Stockholder Approval of Merger and Preliminary Merger Consideration Election Results

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. and CH2M HILL Companies, Ltd. today announced that, based on a preliminary vote tally from the special meeting of CH2M stockholders held on December 13, 2017, CH2M stockholders approved the proposal pursuant to which Jacobs will acquire CH2M pursuant to a reverse subsidiary merger. The preliminary results show that approximately 95.57% of the outstanding shares of CH2M common stock and CH2M preferred stock (on an as-converted basis) voted in favor of the merger.
