In this article, we meet Hanin Baata, assistant project manager and quality champion, who shares her journey and how she helps drive collaboration and quality in project delivery.
Tell us about your background and role.
I’m an assistant project manager with a degree in civil engineering with architecture. I joined Jacobs in 2021 as a contract and commercial engineer and later moved into project management roles, supporting projects across Saudi Arabia and the UAE. I also serve as a quality champion for the water performance unit, supporting both the quality team and project managers in meeting quality targets and ensuring standards are efficiently met.
What does your career path look like so far?
My move into project management came from a passion for overseeing full project life cycles and collaborating closely with teams and clients. One key milestone was leveraging my procurement background to improve supply chain management, streamline processes for project managers and subconsultants, and enhance service delivery and financial efficiency for the environmental impact assessment and printing office network in Saudi Arabia.
As a quality champion, I’ve completed specialized training, worked closely with our quality team, and tracked key performance indicators (KPIs) to help ensure compliance with Jacobs’ standards and support project managers in closing out targets.
How do you help drive Jacobs’ strategy?
I contribute by improving project delivery, enhancing quality processes and expanding our network of local service providers in Saudi Arabia. My procurement experience helps increase operational efficiency and compliance while reinforcing Jacobs’ commitment to excellence.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about high standards, innovation and ongoing growth. I thrive on new challenges and enjoy building strong, collaborative relationships across diverse teams and cultures.

What accomplishments make you proud?
I’m proud of my contributions to quality and efficiency, especially in streamlining supply chain operations and supporting project compliance. I also value my adaptability and ability to create meaningful outcomes through teamwork.
What does a typical day or week look like for you?
My days are filled with meetings, calls and tasks to keep our projects moving forward. In the evenings, I unwind with quiet time, good food and my favorite shows.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I love spending time with family and friends, whether we’re sharing experiences or just enjoying good company. I also enjoy traveling and discovering new cultures and places.
