Jacobs to Support the Department of Energy

PASADENA, Calif., May 5, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it is part of a team selected by the Department of Energy (DOE) to provide a broad range of site services for its Hanford site, located in Richland, Wash. With a total program value of $3.059 billion, the contract has a ten-year period of performance with a five-year base contract period and two option periods for the remaining five years.

Selected as the mission support contractor (MSC), The Mission Support Alliance (MSA), LLC, is led by Lockheed Martin, and includes Jacobs and Wackenhut Services, Inc. MSA will also be supported by several small business teammates.

MSA will provide a number of cross-cutting services to the DOE and other contractors at the Hanford site, such as safety, security and environment, site infrastructure and utilities, site business management, information resources/content management, and portfolio management.

The MSC is the last of three new major prime contracts awarded for cleanup at the Hanford Site as part of the DOE's Central Plateau acquisition strategy. This strategy calls for contracts covering tank farm operations and closure, waste and facility disposition on the Central Plateau, and mission support.
