PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it has been awarded a place on a framework agreement by the UK Government Procurement Service to provide environmental and sustainability advice, support and delivery services across the public sector.
The three-year framework agreement has a provision for a further one-year extension. Government Procurement Service officials have disclosed that the public sector is expected to spend between $93-186 million (£60-120 million GBP) through the framework over the next three years.
Under the terms of the agreement, Jacobs is eligible to secure work on a variety of projects covering seven Government Procurement Service Lots in the areas of air, waste, water, climate change, sustainability and the built environment.
The framework is open for use by all public sector organizations in the UK as a means for them to efficiently and flexibly procure services across a broad range of technical areas. This award enables Jacobs to continue working closely with a number of existing public sector clients that are adopting the framework, while also affording Jacobs the opportunity to broaden its public sector client base.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Bob Duff said, "We are delighted to be appointed to this Government Procurement Service framework. We look forward to working closely with public sector organizations to help them meet future sustainability challenges in these key areas in the coming years."
Jacobs is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional, and construction services.
