DALLAS, March 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC), through its joint venture with EwingCole (an integrated firm specializing in architecture, engineering, interior design and planning), was awarded a five-year contract to support the planning, programming, design and construction of various types of military buildings and facilities at military installations located throughout the Naval Facilities Engineering Command's Southwest (NAVFAC SW) Area of Responsibility (AOR). Military project sites will be located in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. The contract has an estimated value of $99 million.
"Building on our seven-year relationship, Jacobs continues to deliver exceptional service and support to the NAVFAC SW," said Jacobs Buildings and Infrastructure President Bob Pragada. "This project will serve as a true testament to our building design teams' strong track record in executing large programs of this nature for the United States Department of Defense."
Officials have confirmed the program focus will be on large projects under the Military Construction (MILCON) Program and will involve various government facilities including those managed by Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. The joint venture will provide preparation for the design-bid-build construction contract packages, investigate sites, estimate costs, conduct technical reviews, produce planning and programming support documents, coordinate various technical disciplines, and identify and abate methods for existing hazardous materials.
Last year, the joint venture was awarded a contract for general architect engineering services to primarily support the Cadet Barracks Upgrade program at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York.
