PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it was one of five suppliers awarded a contract on a framework to deliver technical consultancy services for the Highways Agency, which manages, maintains and improves England's motorways and major A roads.
The framework provides the Agency with access to technical consultancy advice in areas ranging from research and development to the implementation of standards and guidance.
The framework, valued at 130m pounds Sterling (approx. US$215 million), is for work commissioned over an 18-month period (with a one-year extension option). It highlights the Agency's goal of investing in improved services and staying at the forefront of technical innovation in the construction, maintenance and operation of England's strategic road network.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Mike Higgins stated, "We have a long established relationship with the Highways Agency, which the appointment to this framework will further strengthen. The Highways Agency is an executive agency of the Department for Transport responsible for operating, maintaining and improving the strategic road network in England.
