Jacobs Receives District of Columbia Consolidated Forensics Laboratory Contract

PASADENA, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from the Office of Property Management for the District of Columbia Government to provide Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) support for project development and construction management on the new Consolidated Forensics Laboratory project to be located in Ward 6, SW Washington, D.C.

Officials did not disclose the contract value, yet noted the project is budgeted at $218 million.

This new facility includes approximately 240,000 gross square feet of laboratory, support, and amenity space. Jacobs' professional services will include project planning, scheduling, design review, estimating and cost control, design and construction contract administration, record keeping and reporting, construction quality assurance, and commissioning and occupancy management.

"The award of the CM contract will solidify our project team and give us access to a pool of technical resources that Jacobs offers," said Robin-Eve Jasper, interim director for the Office of Property Management. "They will be hitting the ground running and will engage immediately in performing constructability reviews and produce an independent construction estimate. Jacobs' vast experience with similar laboratory facilities across the nation will contribute significantly to the success of this project."
