PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was honored by the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with an Award of Excellence in Institutional Architecture for the design of the Mission Training Complex at the U.S. Army’s Fort Bragg located in North Carolina.
Jacobs provided full-service architecture and engineering, including construction administration, for the new 148,000-square foot Mission Training Complex. The $28 million facility received LEED® Gold certification.
The complex is a highly functional facility that allows for flexibility and future expansion. It includes modernized classrooms, outdoor tactical operations simulation areas, and work cells with clerestory windows that optimize natural lighting, reducing the need for electricity usage and allowing light to circulate throughout the interior spaces.
