Jacobs Receives Contract From Total for a Sulfur Oxides Emission Reduction Project

PASADENA, Calif., March 18, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from Total Refinery Antwerp (TRA) to provide detailed design, engineering, procurement, and construction management services for a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) unit waste gas treatment project at TRA's refinery in Antwerp, Belgium. TRA is the largest facility within Total Group's integrated industrial base in Europe.

Officials did not disclose the contract value or total investment value.

The project involves design and installation of a new FCC waste gas treatment unit to remove sulfur oxide emissions. The unit must be operational before January 1, 2010 to satisfy new Belgian environmental legislation. Jacobs will execute the work from its office in Antwerp, Belgium, with support from offices in India and the United States.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Robert Matha said, "We are very enthusiastic about continuing to support Total's business goals. In implementing this project, we will help to ensure their continued compliance with Belgian environmental legislation."
